Non-Routine Disposition
As scheduled routine maintenance tasks and inspections are worked the technicians will find discrepancies and deviations that need to be corrected with nonroutine repairs. Solumina® allows the inspector to either choose from standard nonroutine repairs or forward failed inspection results to his lead or QA technician along with notes, audio or digital photos of the affected area. Solumina is also a compliance management tool and will prevent a visit from closing if any required routine or nonroutine tasks is still open.
Nonroutine Operations
Solumina makes it easy to select preplanned work instructions for nonroutine service and repair operations or author special work instructions for unexpected repair situations. Nonroutine operations (a.k.a. nonroutine task cards) can be inserted into the original work order or into a supplemental or sub work order.
A unit’s disposition can include instructions to rework, repair, or scrap. Authoring and approval of supplemental work instructions are part of the disposition process. A defective installed component or subassembly can be fixed in place or removed. When a defective component is removed, the defect history stays with the component.
Nonroutine Work Instructions
Work instructions for routine and nonroutine tasks have the same capabilities. A catalog of nonroutine operations is maintained as optional task groups within the maintenance work plan for a product or in a separate library as standard operations.
Different product models can share instructions for common operations. The process planner is also able to copy from work plans, work orders and standard service or repair instructions.
Online Operation Execution
Routine and nonroutine operations (task cards) are dispatched on the same screen to the shop floor. Except for the label “nonroutine” there is no difference to the technician—they are all maintenance tasks that need to be completed, each with specific data and certification requirements.
Solumina makes it easy to jump from sub work orders to the original order and back, or to a linked drawing or manual and back to the work instructions. All information required by the technician or inspector is only a click away. Panels will not close if any related routine or nonroutine tasks are still outstanding.
Inspection Instructions
Inspection instructions describe and illustrate how to verify the unit is performing to maintenance manual specifications. Inspection instructions include requirements for measurements and data collection with control limits, and requirements for signatures and certifications.
