Foothill Ranch, Calif. – February 23, 2005. iBASEt announces the release of Solumina G5, the latest generation of its paperless Operations Process Management software suite for Manufacturing and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul).

Expanded Product Scope. The new Solumina Supplier Continuous Certification functionality allows setting of strict quality standards for suppliers and monitors each supplier’s ability to meet these requirements. Inspections can be performed at the source via a web browser with inspection and audit frequencies for each part depending on reliability history. As Supplier quality increases, the system automatically relaxes frequency and sample sizes. Conversely, Solumina tightens inspections and oversight when defects are found either at the supplier location or downstream, during assembly. The entire Quality traceability chain and product quality history is maintained by Solumina’s Quality System and Paperless Execution System.
Major Enhancements. Solumina G5 also includes many productivity enhancements for Manufacturing Engineers and shop floor personnel. Power authors can insert operations and data collection requirements “spreadsheet style”. Process planners can push changes from standard operations to work plans or work orders, and from work orders back to work plans in a few clicks. Technicians have new data entry wizards. Inspectors and supervisors leverage drill-down graphs to analyze real-time data from the shop floor.
Closing the ERP gap. Solumina G5’s broad, integrated functionality provides a complete Operations and shop floor solution that delivers all required data to the shop floor while collecting and validating incoming information. Manufacturers can capture the as-built, as-maintained product lifecycle genealogy. Information managed includes design, planning, quality, and efficiency data. Manufacturers now have a single complete operations solution that is optimized for the shop floor and keeps the complexities of the ERP screens and rules away from the shop floor. This ensures that maximum operator time is spent at the tools.
