Lake Forest, Calif., September 21, 1999 - iBASEt (Information Based Technology), a leading provider of paperless manufacturing execution systems (pMES) for the shop floor, has again been named at the top of Deloitte & Touche's "Fast 50" program. This year iBASEt ranked sixth out of the fifty fastest-growing technology companies in Orange County and San Diego. Rankings are based on the percentage growth in revenues during the five-year period from 1994-1998.
Phil Davis, COO and President of iBASEt, credits the continued growth mostly to an increased awareness within the manufacturing industry of iBASEt as well as the cost-saving benefits associated with its paperless shop floor solution. Davis comments, "Whether it is our large customers such as Boeing and Motorola, or smaller shop floor environments, manufacturers using Solumina are reporting production increases and cost savings. Next to inventory, paper is the most cumbersome bottleneck these firms have to overcome, and our solution makes it easy to streamline operations and re-engineer business processes that result in maximizing efficiencies without the time-consuming issues involved with paper methods."
Companies considered for Fast 50 status must produce a technology, or manufacture a technology-related product, with a high percentage of effort devoted to research and development. Additionally, these companies must have been in business for a minimum of five years with 1994 revenues of at least $50,000. Bob Weaver, partner, San Diego technology Group, Deloitte & Touche, comments, "Being named a Fast 50 winner is a testament to each company's leadership and its ability to not only have the right solution at the right moment, but also the vision that allows growth over five years."
iBASEt, founded in 1986 as TSI, is a leading provider of high-tech software solutions and services. iBASEt pioneered the first image-based work instruction system in the complex assembly, aerospace and defense, and MRO markets. Users report by making the shop floor paperless, iBASEt's Solumina pMES solution has significantly improved productivity, increased throughput, and provided cost savings in the millions of dollars per year.
