Telecom Solutions, Inc. Releases Advanced Shop Floor Functionality at APICS

Lake Forest, Calif., October 29, 1998 -- Telecom Solutions, Inc. (TSI), a leading supplier of paperless, manufacturing execution systems (MES) will release increased capabilities within its Shopfloor 2000™ solution at the APICS convention, Booth #382, to be held in Nashville, Tennessee, November 1-4. The new Graphical Dispatch Manager significantly enhances scheduling and further streamlines production processes, and as a result, lowers operating costs for discrete, complex manufacturers.

"Our customers have requested these Gantt displays that schedule processes and contain resource histograms to make it easier for their planners to review daily resource utilization, rearrange schedules and assign employees to jobs," says Phil Davis, President of the SF2K Division that develops Shopfloor 2000. "Beta tests have been enthusiastic, and we believe this new functionality will further increase the demand for Shopfloor 2000."

Shopfloor 2000 is a complete manufacturing software suite for discrete, complex organizations including aerospace and defense, industrial equipment, and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO). Applications include process planning, work instructions delivery, quality assurance, a CAD viewer, and the new graphical dispatch manager. These powerful modules eliminate one of manufacturing's most time-consuming and costly limitations on the shop floor–paper. Shopfloor 2000 provides a paperless environment for creating, delivering, revising and tracking work orders, multimedia instructions, work specifications and quality assurance and has been referred to as the "next industrial revolution."

TSI, founded in 1986, is a leading provider of high-tech software solutions and services. TSI's SF2K division has pioneered the first image-based work instruction system in the complex assembly, FAB and MRO markets today. By making the shop floor paperless, users report that Shopfloor 2000 has significantly improved productivity, increased throughput, and provided cost savings in the millions of dollars per year.
