AlliedSignal Singapore to Deploy iBASEt's Manufacturing Execution System

Lake Forest, Calif., January 17, 2000 - AlliedSignal Singapore (Pte) Limited has selected iBASEt's paperless Manufacturing Execution System (pMES), Solumina, for their aerospace repair and overhaul facility. This Singapore facility was established in 1978 to provide premier service to AlliedSignal's customers in Asia and Australasia.

According to Dr. Pratip Dastidar, Director of the Office of Continuous Improvement, the Singapore office of AlliedSignal is on the leading edge of company-wide initiatives to implement Lean Manufacturing and achieve Six Sigma quality levels. "We have recently successfully reduced our cycle times from 60 days to 16 days while continuously improving quality. We believe the quality functionality built into Solumina including corrective action will get us closer to our goal of achieving 6S quality levels."

iBASEt's Director of Sales, Michel Gadbois, stated, "We are proud to have AlliedSignal Singapore as our first Asian customer. We believe there is a tremendous potential for Solumina in Asia and are extremely pleased that our first site is so focused on enhancing quality and productivity."

AlliedSignal will be implementing Solumina at their facility in Singapore, which overhauls OEM Auxiliary Power Units, Turbo-Prop Engines and components to the Commercial Air Transport and Regional Aircraft markets.
