Phil Davis Appointed SF2K President, Responsible for Boeing Installations, New Applications
Lake Forest, Calif., July 16, 1998 -- Telecom Solutions, Inc. (TSI ™), a pioneer in paper-free factory software, appointed Phil Davis as president of its SF2K Division.
The division's flagship product, Shopfloor 2000™, is believed to be the first integrated MES (Manufacturing Execution System) solution deployed in the assembly of an entire aircraft, an achievement honored in May 1998 with an Innovation Award from the American Electronics Association.
Mr. Davis, a TSI executive officer, will continue to report directly to Amrik Poonian, Chairman, CEO and President of TSI. Davis will assume responsibility for programs at Boeing sites and other installations. TSI recently announced a corporate purchase agreement with the Boeing company for Shopfloor 2000 software, integration services, and long-range support.
Naming Davis to the position, Poonian said, "Phil Davis was instrumental in taking TSI to the top of the 1997 Deloitte and Touche LLP Technology Fast 50 list for Southern California. His background as an entrepreneur and extensive experience in high-growth technology companies here and abroad will continue to drive our success. As we expand paper-free factory floor systems to new industrial customers, Phil's expertise with operations in a global environment will be a great asset for the SF2K Division," Poonian observed.
Phil Davis has an entrepreneur's background with both technical systems engineering and computer/software marketing experience. For the past four years, he has served as executive vice president of TSI. Previously, Mr. Davis was a member of the "first generation" management teams for two fast-track technology ventures: Sequent Computer Systems and Pyramid Technologies. At both companies, Davis held a number of senior management positions with responsibilities for direct and channel sales, marketing, and support.
A native of Ireland, Davis attended Ulster University, earning a computer science degree. Prior to coming to the United States, he was with Sperry Univac (now Unisys) in European sales and technical operations. Mr. Davis now resides in Orange County, California, with his wife, Jan, and their two children.
