Lake Forest, August 8, 2000 - iBASEt's paperless manufacturing execution solution (pMES), Solumina, is currently being deployed at the Motorola Computer Group (MCG) part of Motorola's (NYSE:MOT) Integrated Electronic Systems Sector and the world's leading supplier of embedded computing platforms for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). MCG, located in Tempe, AZ, is the second Motorola Division to implement iBASEt's solution and follows Motorola's Satellite System Group located in Mesa, AZ. This sale represents a major success for iBASEt in a targeted new vertical market. iBASEt focused on the electronics assembly market as this industry faces many of the same critical business issues Solumina has very effectively addressed in the Aerospace & Defense market including improving throughput, quality and efficiency while providing an as-built device database.
According to Mike Foley, IT director, Motorola Computer Group, "MCG is looking forward to collaborating with iBASEt on our forthcoming MES implementation. We consider this to be a significant step in unifying our internal Information Systems thus providing Motorola Computer Group further opportunity to help strengthen our position as a Global Manufacturing Organization."
iBASEt's Director of Sales, Michel Gadbois, stated, "This collaboration is a reflection of iBASEt's commitment to the Industrial Electronics market. We believe this market has tremendous needs for our technology which includes a holistic approach to shop floor control."
iBASEt, founded in 1986 as TSI, is a leading provider of high-tech software solutions and services. iBASEt pioneered the first image-based work instruction system in the complex assembly, aerospace and defense markets. Users report by making the shop floor paperless, iBASEt's Solumina pMES solution has significantly improved productivity, increased throughput, and provided cost savings in the millions of dollars per year.
