Lake Forest, Calif., February 04, 1999 – iBASEt (Information Based Technology™) a leading provider of paperless manufacturing execution systems (pMES), entered into an agreement with Motorola's Systems Solutions Group (SSG) and Satellite Communications Group (SCG) for the deployment of iBASEt's pMES solution at two of its major Arizona sites. Implementation of the system began in January.
Phil Davis, iBASEt President and COO said about the sale, "We showed The Boeing Company's enterprise-wide operation utilizing our pMES solution to Motorola, and I think they were impressed. It's one thing to be able to implement a shop floor system that significantly reduces costs and increases throughput – it's quite another to do it on the scale iBASEt accomplished at Boeing. It clearly demonstrates not only the benefits of moving to a paperless operation, but how using iBASEt can accomplish both short and long-term shop floor objectives."
Scot Grant, Manager of the Information Technology Manufacturing Systems organization for the Systems Solutions Group commented, "We evaluated numerous potential MES providers during our initial literature search. After 11 on-site vendor demos, we narrowed the potential candidates to four (4) companies who each gave a 5-day software demonstration at our Arizona location. Out of this structured evaluation process, iBASEt was selected as the best shop floor solution in terms of both functionality and software flexibility. We believe the implementation team, consisting of experienced personnel from both Motorola and iBASEt, will deploy the system with very high levels of quality – on schedule and on budget. This system when fully deployed will replace our current quality and work-in-process tracking system."
