iBASEt Releases Web-Based Reports For Solumina MES

Reporting capability provides manufacturers and their supply chain internet access to critical shop floor data that significantly increases productivity

Lake Forest, Calif., July 20, 1999 - iBASEt, a leading supplier of paperless manufacturing execution systems (pMES), has released a Java-enabled Web-based reporting system for their award-winning shop floor software, Solumina. With this new capability, end users as well as customers and vendors anywhere in the world can access critical business information using a standard Web browser.

"The number one concern for our manufacturing customers," says Phil Davis, President and COO of iBASEt, "is how they can increase productivity on the shop floor. To make important business decisions based on real-time information coming from the shop floor, executives must be easily able to retrieve data from their software system. Solumina provides the right kind of information to the right people, and now that it can be accessed by the Internet, an organization's training cycle can be shortened and customers can also service their supply chain with the same crucial capabilities."

The new Solumina web report writer is flexible, easy to use, secure, and has a common user interface. Workers can reuse the same standard query language employed to create Solumina's popular user-defined views. Tabular or banded reports are easily constructed and an advanced scheduling engine allows reports to be processed on demand or scheduled.

Solumina is an integrated manufacturing software system for discrete, complex organizations including aerospace and defense, industrial equipment, fabrication and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO). Unique modules include process planning, work instructions delivery, MRO, quality assurance, CAD viewer, and graphical dispatch manager. These powerful modules eliminate one of the shop floor's most time-consuming and costly limitations -- paper. Solumina provides a paperless environment for creating, delivering, revising and tracking work orders, multimedia instructions, work specifications, and quality assurance. Solumina has been referred to as the "next industrial revolution."

iBASEt, founded in 1986 as TSI, is a leading provider of high-tech software solutions and services. iBASEt pioneered the first image-based work instruction system in the complex assembly, aerospace and defense, and MRO markets. Users report by making the shop floor paperless, iBASEt's Solumina pMES solution has significantly improved productivity, increased throughput, and provided cost savings in the millions of dollars per year.
